Fireplace mantels - Scagliola stone or others

I have now looked around and found several suppliers of fireplace mantels. Targaruga has some very nice ones, but the overall best range of choices are at Sonterrastone.com and Missionstone, but so far the best high end fireplace mantels seems to be at www.francoisandco.com/?section=collections&cat=1&subcat=heritage . Now we will look more at stone range hoods and compare what is best on the markt.

Cool French Limestone fireplace mantels

I was out looking for a mantel to our fireplace and found this awesome site where they provide the famous Scagliola stone. http://www.francoisandco.com/ seems to have most things for the fireplace including decorative pieces and in addition to limestone designs they now offer metal mantel pieces for your fireplace. They seems to be related to http://www.stoneagedesigns.com/ but I am not quite sure how the relationshiop is. Francois and co seems to have everything I could ask for and they are very helpful. We are right now deciding on which design to go with, the french country style or the more dark and mysterious Gothic look.

We will probably also get a matching kitchen hood in cool Scagliola stone that kind of matches the style of our fireplace mantel. The hoods are even cooler I think, http://www.francoisandco.com/?section=collections&cat=6&subcat=hoods . It looks awesome and the price were not as high as I expected, even though it is NO IKEA price. But again I think we get what we pay for.
